Accessibility and Availability
Neighborhood
Birch House sits halfway between Traverse City and Suttons Bay in the heart of Leelanau wine country, with private Grand Traverse Bay frontage right across the road. Suttons Bay is your home village. It's small — just over 600 year-round residents — but it punches well above its weight. 9 Bean Rows is one of the best bakeries in northern Michigan and worth the trip on its own. Wren is a farm-to-table standout for dinner. Poppy Things and Bayside Gallery anchor a downtown you can walk end to end in 10 minutes but will take much longer. Two public beaches, a marina, and the TART trail round it out for anyone who wants to move. From Suttons Bay, 24 Leelanau Peninsula wineries are within easy reach. Shady Lane Cellars and Suttons Bay Ciders are minutes away. Leland and historic Fishtown are a short drive north. Traverse City is 20 minutes south for bigger restaurants, shopping, and the farmers market. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Glen Arbor are about 40 minutes west when you're ready for a full day out.
Guest Access
The house, garage, and lakefront are available for guest use. The barn is not available for guests.
