Welcome to the Cedar House hosted by Wander North Rentals! Cedar House is a cozy cottage tucked into the woods perfect for a family retreat. The home is located just a few miles from Cedar and Maple City, 15 minutes from Traverse City, 20 minutes from Glen Arbor, and 30 minutes from the Interlochen Arts Academy. You couldn't ask for a more central location to explore all the Leelanau Peninsula has to offer!
Good to know
As soon as you drive up to this home you will be surrounded by Northern Michigan charm. The home sits on a wooded lot with ample outdoor space including an outdoor eating area, seating, and a fire pit. Inside the home, you will find 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a beautiful open main floor plan. The kitchen is fully renovated and stocked with everything you need to cook a meal for your group including pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. Off the kitchen is a dining area with seating for 6 and then you will step down into the living area. There are multiple seating options in the living room to spend time with our entire group. There are 2 bedrooms available on the main floor. Each room is updated with new beds and options for clothing storage. The main floor also has a bathroom with a glass door shower and a laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer. Upstairs is a loft space with 2 twin beds set up as a teen hangout area including bean bags and a desk. This home is ideal for a family traveling together who wants to spend time together but with space to spread out both in and outdoors. All linens and towels are included in your stay. We also cater to minimalist travelers so include items like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, laundry detergent, and more. Other Details to Note
Home is located 1 mile from the Cedar Rod and Gun club. You may hear gun shots outside during the day. Cedar House is an experience off the beaten path, which means you may experience wildlife. The home is treated for critters on a regular basis but as you may expect living in the woods surrounded by nature, bugs and mice are sometimes spotted. We do not refund for animal sightings, but we don't charge more either! This is a traditional Michigan cabin without air conditioning. We provide fans in every room and recommend opening the windows at night to let the cool Michigam air inside! Please note neither fireplace in the home is working or available for guest use. Thanks!

Cedar is considered the heart of Leelanau County — central to everything, crowds nowhere. Fifteen minutes to Traverse City, 20 minutes to Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and surrounded by Leelanau Peninsula wine country. In the village: Cedar River Coffee Company for your morning, the Cedar Tavern for your evening, Blue Moon Ice Cream in between. The Polish Art Center is a genuine hidden gem. The 548-acre Cedar River Preserve winds into Lake Leelanau and is one of the best kayak routes in the county. Every July, the Cedar Polka Festival takes over town for four nights of music and pierogis. Interlochen Arts Academy is 30 minutes away. French Valley Vineyard is right down the road. Maple City is minutes away for a quick grocery run.
